There’s nothing better on dark winter nights than strolling through gardens, carefully adorned with twinkling lights with loved ones and a cup of hot cocoa. From the traditional Festival of Lights at VanDusen Botanical Gardens, complete with Santa’s Storytime and a Parisian Carousel ride, to the Holiday Heights lights display at the Bloedel Conservatory in Queen Elizabeth park; free with your VanDusen Festival ticket! The PNE Christmas Chinese Lantern Festival is also a bright and beautiful way to celebrate the season.
Take the whole family to watch the quintessential Christmas story on stage, as the Goh Ballet performs The Nutcracker, December 14th – 19th at The Centre in Vancouver. The Vancouver Symphony Orchestra is also gearing up for its annual round of Christmas concerts around the Lower Mainland. Check the VSO schedule for performance dates and locations. Up for something truly unique? KURIOS: Big Top Touring Show is this year’s Cirque du Soleil spectacle under the big top in False Creek.
Head up to the Peak of Christmas at Grouse Mountain for an unforgettable family experience. Highlights include sleigh rides, skating, seasonal movies in their Theatre in the Sky, and Santa Claus.
